The Mr and Miss Fitness SA pageant took place this last weekend at Grandwest Casino in Cape Town. I took part in the Mens Model division where I came 14th out of 37. The standard of the guys was incredible, the top 10 were really committed and they came in hard and ripped! No excuses but I maintain a more natural look as this is more marketable and commercial...Thus I minimise my "freak factor", for example the guys on cover of Mens Health(the benchmark basically) are natural, lean, good looking guys who possess no freak factor. This is what I strive for, and its not about conforming, its about staying mainstream and marketable. I love to eat and I love to train hard, but if i didnt hold back I would be a massive freak! So I train lightly and eat small healthy meals... I do cheat though ;) Nothing better than a great Italian pasta dish or a massive fillet steak!!! All in all it was an amazing show with some incredible performances and the opening act was mind blowing! Great job to Bernadette and Dean Beyer for putting it together. On a side note, Mr SA 2009 Steven Segal was one of the fashion judges, I had a good chat with him, what a great guy...he is such a gracious and approachable person, qualities I really believe in.Pic above is me with Woman 35+ division winner Tamsin Montgomery(Percy's wife) and pic below is me with Bikini division runner-up Nastassia Jaffa.
